Hey, I’m Quierra!
(Oh, and that’s pronounced key-air-ah, if you’re curious. Since we’re friends now, feel free to call me Q)
I help people to plan successful, sustainable fundraising events with less stress and more profit.
As a professional event planner and fundraising consultant, I’ve done over 90 events ranging from intimate happy hours that keep donors engaged, to galas with hundreds of attendees and 6-figure profits.
My mission is to share what I've learned about putting on successful fundraisers, in hopes of making it easier for good people to make a positive difference in the world.
Why fundraising events?
I believe that we all have the privilege and the responsibility to give back in a way that is meaningful, fulfilling, and full of the magic that happens with real human connection.
But I also know that the fundraising struggle is REAL.
Let’s be honest. Ever find yourself thinking:
The idea of “networking" is the worst. It feels gross and “salesy”. Where the hell do I even start?
Small talk? What am I even supposed to say?
Cold- calling people trying to convince them of anything while all they want to do is hang up… Yeah, awkward.
Asking for money is super uncomfortable. Hard Pass.
Any of these sound familiar? It’s okay, go ahead and raise your hand. I can’t see you, and I’m not judging.
Plus, you’re not the only one who feels this way.
The truth, that not many people really talk about, is that reaching out of your comfort zone, even for a cause you care deeply about, can be difficult and down right scary!
Putting on a great fundraiser can be a mentally and emotionally draining process.
But I’m here to tell you that it doesn’t have to be that way!
Believe me, I get it.
As someone who was painfully shy as a kid, and is a card-carrying introvert, I understand how difficult it is to learn to build relationships to support your fundraiser in a way that feels authentic to your personality.
